Range Finder is a feature on Metolius Cams size 2 and larger that helps you assess placement quality, thereby making the cams safer and easier to place. It's a powerful tool to let you know where you are within a cam's range. Just read the gauge where the cam lobe contacts the rock.

• Green Zone: Green means go! A placement in the Green Zone indicates that you have chosen the optimally sized unit.
• Yellow Zone: Caution! This is a decent placement but the next size up would be solidly in the Green Zone, resulting in a more stable placement. Use placements in the Yellow Zone if nothing else is available or if you need to conserve the next size up for a critical placement higher up.
• Red Zone: Stop! This is a very poor placement. Use a larger unit or find another placement. Only use a placement in the Red Zone if nothing else is available.

With their optimized logarithmic spiral and thicker cam faces on each individual cam, Power Cam 4 cam units have increased surface area and develop more outward force. This provides increased holding power throughout the cam's active range. Hence, the name Power Cam.
