PIEPS: Since 1972 PIEPS has dealt with the development and manufacturing of avalanche beacons. The classical analog devices were developed through the years to the state of the art. The availability of digital components enabled PIEPS to change from the analog technology to the DSP technology. The launch of the PIEPS DSP in 2003 was the breakthrough on the international market.
