DMM Fly Hammer

If you are looking for a classic all rounder, then this is the winter tool for you.

The Fly is a hugely popular tool that has performed extremely well on all sorts of terrain, from arm wilting icefalls, to tricky mixed routes and alpine summits.

The straight lower section of the shaft plunges easily into snow, while the curved upper section saves your knuckles from getting bashed and allows reachy placements over the top of ice cauliflowers or turfy bulges.

It’s fitted with a T rated pick as standard, which means it is robust enough to cope with the rigours of modern mixed climbing. B rated picks are also available if you are planning a pure icefall climbing trip.

You can get an adze or a hammer version, and when we say ‘hammer’ we mean one that is big enough to place a Bulldog or drive home a peg or warthog.
